There are many ways to observe the weather, from making your own raingauge, to buying expensive, highly accurate instrumentation.  We hope there is something of interest for all in this section of our site.

There are raingauges for children and descriptions of clouds and their names.  You can find out about Luke Howard, the man who named the clouds, or learn how wind is measured. Schools are also able to borrow instruments from the Society.

There is more information available on making weather observations and weather phenomena on our public outreach site theWeatherClub.org.uk, as well as resources and activities for schools at MetLink.org
